Sowing And Reaping

Jackie had always been promiscuous during her early twenties. She was very beautiful but had low self-esteem. She would purposely lead men on, spend all their money, and break their hearts. One day Jackie met Juan and she fell head over hills. Juan had no intentions of becoming serious with Jackie. He led Jackie on, spent all her money, and ended up breaking her heart. Jackie was distraught and she could not believe her actions finally caught up to her. This experience was an eye opener for Jackie and she was at the lowest moment of her life. She slipped into a deep depression until one day she heard a knock at her door. At the door was an elderly woman who was giving away turkeys for the holidays. She gave Jackie a turkey and asked if she could pray for her. Jackie agreed and she felt God’s presence for the first time and tears began to roll down her face. This day was the turning point in Jackie’s life. She started to treat others how she would want to be treated. God eventually blessed Jackie with a husband and beautiful children.

Have you ever heard of Karma; what goes around comes around; what goes up must come down; you reap what you sow? This is exactly what happened in Jackie’s life. She planted (sowed) bad seeds and eventually she reaped a bad harvest. Galatians 6:7-9 says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. ”

2 Corinthians 9:6 says, “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” If you have done an abundance of evil then you could expect an abundance of evil to come back to you. However, if you have done an abundance of good then you can expect an abundance of blessings to come back to you. How can you reap a good harvest? The answer is to speak the word of God over your situations.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Since God’s word is alive, we can declare his promises over any circumstances. Romans 4:17 says that calleth those things which be not as though they were. His word also says that if you decree such a thing and it will be established to you (Job 22:28). Proverbs 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. So what will you reap today, positivity or negativity?

Let’s pray:

Dear Father God, I am thankful that your word is true and I can receive victory by declaring your word over my situations. Isaiah 46:10 says that I can declare the beginning from the end. God with your words I can call for the things that I desire because I am dispatching angels. Psalms 103:20 says, “Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.”

Isaiah 55:11 says So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. I declare that God has great things in store for me. I am the head and not the tail. I am blessed coming in and blessed going out. I am above and not beneath. My enemies will come against me in one way but flee from me in seven ways (Deuteronomy 28). Lord, I speak peace, prosperity, and blessing into my life. In Jesus name Amen.
